OUI/DWI

Getting charged with operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor , or "OUI," (Massachusetts) or Driving While Intoxicated, or "DWI," (New York) has severe consequences.  You can get arrested and face charges even if you have no criminal intent.  Getting arrested for OUI or DWI can be disproportionately burdensome because it will affect your license to drive and because the penalty schedule does not give judges much discretion.
